Comp Doc Located!
Kathy tracked him down, he said her hard drive was toast and that he was in the process of downloading her data. (Her lie detector went “Ping!” when she heard that.) One hopes the comp will be back this week.
The moose is delicious. (Had moose heart soup for lunch yesterday. And dinner.)

Hope the moose was still dead……………
it’s possible that the hard drive’s just about ready to go but much of the data’s still accessable … i’ve had this happen myself … what the computer doc has probably seen is some bad sectors and heard a nasty clicking noise when the drive is on … in this case, it really is just about toast and yet most of the data will be downloadable … and once this starts, the best thing to do is download what you can and give up on the drive because very soon you won’t get anything off of it
