News doesn’t get much better than this.
A “mentally disturbed” man, heavily armed, stopped in a park to load
his guns before going on a shooting rampage. Along came a playful
pup and changed his mind. I can hardly wait to share this story
with Greyfox. One extremely gratifying aspect of his recovery has
been his growing appreciation of dogs and cats. I’ve heard him
say at meetings that he learned first to love rocks (and I know he’s
not joking about that), then the three cats who were here when we came
to housesit warmed his heart a little more. The village dogs in
Talkeetna brought a little more love into his life, and now he’s
working on learning to love primates. He will love this story.I have another town trip planned for today. It’s a potluck
barbecue with a bunch of dope fiends from NA, not just our little home
group, but some from Anchorage, too. Good clean fun in the
sun. That huge high pressure system is still here making things
hot, and the midnight sun keeps it from cooling off significantly at
night. I have a big salad to prepare and a few other things to
pull together before I hit the road. Seeya!Puppy prevents Canadian killing spree. 25/06/2004. ABC News Online

Maybe some people will be inspired to be kinder to strays and lost animals… they could save you from a deranged killer. Or not.
Thank God for pets!
What a precious story. Thanks for sharing it.
Your site is amazing. I have read for hours on end the last couple of days, and I find your life highly fascinating. I do not find it offensive, just real. More people should do this, for it makes great entertainment on rainy days
So will they put that guy away forever somewhere, so he can be happy?
hmmm… yes, our government’s lovely social system..

With all the government cutbacks of the last few years, they’ve been closing psychiatric care facilities & half-way houses. So now these poor people resort to violent crime because they know they need to be cared for.
I’m so glad he saw that dog
They are angels, aren’t they? Our kitties and puppies and turtles and birds and …
~sigh~
I found this interesting too …
I’ve always wanted to know what a t-rex smelled like!
well i wont know how much we have in common. are you a lucid dreamer or what? yes, utah is a beautiful place but i find it difficult to tollerate at times because of all the mormon influance in everything that happens here. my weblog is basically a place where i can rant and let people who care know i am still alive. anyways communicating through the xanga eprops board isnt the most efficient way to communicate… so send me an email if you would like. fuhgawz500@hotmail.com
He said New Brunswickers were too nice so he went to Toronto when he realized that Torontonians were also too nice to mow down…
kind of cute in a slasher movie kind of way.
That is such a cool story! You know, this brings me to think about when Sidhartha was so miserable and suicidal and looked into the water and heard and felt OM and was suddenly at peace- and suddenly aware of the unity of all things- all creatures… and love filled him.
Animals have an amazing power of persuasion I have found. Its most difficult to look a sweet hyper or even soft and slow animal in your presence without feeling some of the animals magic. It is a gift within them. Humans could learn alot about love from dogs and cats I believe. Granted- some of their reactive processes may stem from conditioned responses – but they still have such an amazing healing power of the soul.
They say aged people are likely to live longer lives if they have pets in old age. I love animals. Their innocence is blinding at times.
I hope you enjoy your time with your friends from NA. Sounds like a good time

Also… I can’t imagine what it must be like to experience sunlight at midnight– wow… I guess living there you must be quite used to it- but I can;t imagine sunlight around the clock.
Do you miss the moon? and just out of curiousity – is this something that effects a woman’s cycle?
