  If you mean classic mediumship or seance stuff where one attempts to

  communicate with spirits the way John Edward does,
  no.   I

  mean I have never attempted that.  It’s just not my
  schtick. 

  But I have had some contact with spirits such as the young woman in
  New

  York on 9/11 who didn’t know she was dead, and in the course of my
  work

  have had some “dead people” speak through me when I was

  open-channeling.  Then there is Red Eagle.  He is
  one of

  Greyfox’s Muscogee forbears, one of the Red Stick holdouts who
  wouldn’t

  cooperate with the white invaders.  Greyfox sort of introduced
  us,

  connected us, before he and I had even met in person, when we were
  only

  corresponding by mail.  Red Eagle contacted me, counseled me,

  encouraged me to let the relationship with Greyfox develop, and helped

  me understand some things I hadn’t a clue about.  He’s still

  around, but I don’t call on him much.  Invoking Red Eagle is
  like

  suddenly having an icy hand take hold of my heart.  It’s not
  that

  he has no sense of humor.  It’s a dry one a lot like my
  father’s

  and mine, but it’s also the most… serious, businesslike sense of

  humor I’ve ever encountered.  The chief takes nothing
  lightly.

  Well, Rachel, it’s like this:  I’ve got this damned

  vocabulary, and I can’t let it go to waste.  But seriously, I

  don’t use big words to be obscure.  Some words are just
  big. 

  I didn’t make them up, but if one of them says what I want to say

  better than a dozen or two small words would, I use it.  I

  like to play with words.  There is a dictionary search box in

  what I’m saying.  In other words, if I “talk” over your head,

  raise your head.

  The best theory I’ve encountered is that it is ki or chi, the
  mind-power that martial artists learn to control.  In poltergeist
  cases, it is almost always unleashed unconsciously and the events are
  chaotic.

  If your brain has healthy electrochemistry and no serious defects,
  you probably can.  You may have already experienced
  telepathy.  For many people, their first awareness of their own
  telepathy is when they know who’s calling on the phone before they
  answer it, when they finish a friend’s sentences for them or answer
  someone’s question before it is verbalized. 
  Internet chat and IM give a whole range of opportunities for the sort
  of feedback that helps you recognize your psychic awareness for what it
  is, and develop it.  That process of feedback is called,
  “practice.”

  Psychokinesis or telekinesis is just another form of
  mind-power.  Think of telepathy and PK as different “arts”. 
  Some people have more talent for dance, while others have a natural
  ability at sculpture.  But a sculptor can learn, with maybe more
  difficulty, to dance.  The most important factors are clarity of
  intent, will and follow-through:  knowing what you want, truly

  Learn about the various brainwave states, do relaxation techniques and
  learn to recognize when your brain is in Alpha and Theta.  That’s
  where the psychic stuff works best and you can practice and condition
  yourself to go into Alpha or Theta at will.  Logic and memory work
  best in Beta, and that’s what ordinary education and culture cultivates.

  I started learning, first, by discovering that such things were real
  and possible, then by wanting them as you do, and then by studying and
  practicing.  I’m still learning, studying and practicing.

  Somewhere I read, in some “color test” psychological thing, that if yellow is your favorite you tend to have psychic abilities.
