some better, some worse
UPDATED
I’m breathing okay today, but when I turned over in bed early this morning, I re-injured the spinal problem I’ve had since one of the times I slipped off a rain-slick step this summer. Stretches have made it feel better today, but there is still a hot spot back there, and a tendency for muscles around it to spasm. TMI? Don’t worry about it. This is my journal. You read at will, and at your own risk.
Sunrise was lovely and colorful today, and between the first light of dawn and sunup I got some nifty shots of a frosty window with the dawn woods outside it.

nifty indeed. i love those shots. as for hoarfrost…it’s so nice to read someone else who knows what that term is and not snicker over it.
Those frosty windows are gorgeous! Spasms no fun at all. I just hate it when I twist the wrong way and feel it for the rest of the week. Miss A says it’s too bad I’m such a old fart. haha
i still love the frost. those are frameable to my eye.
but yes…hoarfrost. and i’m used to seeing it at ground level.
there’s nothing wrong with the occasional clear sky shot. at least i hope there isn’t. kind of like my foot shots. :]
Sorry to hear you’ve reinjured yourself. I can only imagine how painful that must be. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. As for your photos, they are beautiful.
Glad your breathing is okay..mine is starting its annual decline for winter. I have to get a humidifier in here. The photos are beautiful but weird in the sense that we are still in the 60s here during the day. The trees are turning color but it’s way too warm for this point in October.
Sorry about your back. Those photographs are amazing! Not enough to make me want to winter in Alaska, you understand, but I’m grateful you share your view.
“The eye altering, alters all.” – William Blake.
But you know that. At least in one way I’m interpreting it…
Risk, risk – I prefer more active and potentially harmful forms of risk. You’re about as harmful as… err… a toothless guinea pig with a friendly disposition?
It’s never too much information. Just ask fans of Montaigne.
@Apocatastasis - On that TMI idea, I agree. Before I started blogging, I posted on a few boards. After getting some feedback there, I decided my username should be “oversharing.” BTW, I started blogging because I couldn’t handle having moderators delete my threads. Xanga has too many rules, but I can’t afford to own my own servers.
As for my harmlessness, I have had readers tell me that my words nauseated them, made them cry, depressed them, infuriated them… it all depends on the mood I’m in — or the mood they’re in.
@SuSu - They say the way to hurt people the most is to cut right to their heart, crippling their self-image. I know I could do that. I have done it, because I usually know exactly where to strike each individual.
I actually prefer physical violence to doing that sort of thing. It’s much less malicious, and much more straight-foward. If anything, it’s nicer.
Still, so long as you cannot rip out my eyes, you are harmless in my eyes! I’d probably just laugh off any threats or vitriol I saw from you, and continue in my pestering as part of a lifelong quest for personal growth.
Though you do make a good point.
@Apocatastasis - Pester on, Kiddo. I love it, and love you. If I ever lash out at you, chalk it up to the moods of a (sometimes) grumpy old woman. I don’t understand the people who say that words hurt. I just repeat their words. Words don’t hurt me. I don’t use them deliberately to hurt, either, but I do sometimes knowingly use words to shock and shake people up.
@SuSu - The INTP’s weakest function is ‘Feeling’ – that might have something to do with it. (yeah, I’ve been reading about this stuff).
For INFJ’s, feeling is second only to intuition. I know some people who tested INFJ, and they’re highly sensitive (though they tend to react differently than I do).
I feel everything intensely. Words easily hurt me… but to a great extent I can also choose how I react to them. So I choose to react both merrily, and somewhat rationally.
ily too!!!!!
They really shouldn’t have made the heart things have a smile, it looks weird.
The last thing you said, that’s an awesome trait to have.
‘night.
Beautiful pics.
