She, too, left a slight signature as they progressed, a mathematically unique coding. With knowledge of a wizard’s or stringer’s symbol and the sense of time laid out mathematically in the record, she realized she could actually track someone across the void by taking only the freshest trace or retrace their path and tell from whence they had come.

That’s really cool. Makes me think of some book I read YEARS ago that impressed me enough to tear a page out to keep for later usage. The page talked about words; vocal chords creating vibrations, and the crystals in water forming patterns based on those vibrations; and the emphasis was on the “spoken word” creating order, and it brought the Creation Myth to light when God said, “Light be.” Anyway, that’s what it reminded me of.
“ But today, Padma heard Mountbatten’s ticktock…English-made, it beats with relentless accuracy. And now the factory is empty; fumes linger, but the vats are still; and I’ve kept my word. Dressed up to the nines, I greet Padma as she rushes to my desk, flounces down on the floor beside me, commands: “Begin.” I give a little satisfied smile, feel the children of midnight queuing up in my head, pushing and jostling like Koli fishwives; I tell them to wait, it won’t be long now; I clear my throat, give my pen a little shake; and start.

(‘How To Shit Around The World”, Dr. Jane Wilson-Howarth, something of a sequel to ‘How To Shit In The Woods’ by Kathleen Meyer, which is a great read)
“…imagine the air you breathe as water pouring into the funnel and draining down to start the rotor spinning. Let the rotor gain momentum for a few seconds, heating up and setting of energy the radiates and sparkles and, at the same time, gives off enough power to prropel an exhalation in the form of warm water and steam.” - The Art of Breathing – Imagery Drill
Oh man! My first attempt at posting never made it in. At least I got back in again, cause normally, I can’t even get on your site. Here we go again.
“The presumption, then, that Chinese Americans are merely Chinese people who happen to be in America, who could just as easily be in Indonesia or Malaysia, strikes me as fallacious, even dangerous. For if you insist that you belong to the diaspora, those who belong to the nation may eventually take you at your word. I say all this in earnest.”
The Accidental Asian by Eric Liu. It’s an interesting read…even if you aren’t Asian. Peace and blessings.
