  • Rumors of my death are slightly exaggerated.

I have mentioned previously how like a small town Alaska is, only spread out on a very large map.  A few days ago, a rumor going around got back to me, saying that I was on my deathbed.  It reminded me of a bit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail:  “Bring out your dead.”  “…but I’m getting better.”

The pneumonia is getting better.  “Compared to what?”  I hear that sarcastic inner voice ask.  Compared to how I was at the worst of the crisis, I’m breathing lots easier.  There are new symptoms, however, suspiciously like some kind of flu, and there are always the old chronic symptoms of M.E.

I have to remind people occasionally that we are all dying from the day we are born, but this particular case of pneumonia hasn’t killed me yet.  I have been resting a lot, reading, taking it easy, which is never very easy for me.  Lately, it has gotten a lot easier… or going and doing has gotten much harder.

    But I’m getting BETTER!

I did get a picture of some huge snowflakes falling a few days ago.  There’s some video, too, if I ever get it edited and if it then looks worth sharing.

  • Wow, snow!  It’s really good to hear you’re getting better!

  • keep on fighting the good fight. you’re in my meditations, as always, kathy.

  • Been wondering how you’ve been doing.

  • Just came across your site and wanted to tell you that you are an awesome writer! I enjoyed reading your posts. I hope you feel better, enjoy your snow! :)

  • I am so glad you’re kicking that pneumonia’s butt! Yea! Got my flu shot this year — so tired of getting so yucky-sick every year.

  • Not dead yet is good!

Possible flu…  Hmmm.  Do you have an opinion on flu shots?

  • One of the things that occurred to me when I was fighting Leukemia.. was how different my perception of a ‘deathbed’ was from the reality of it.

  • Glad to hear you are getting better and sounding very positive , beautiful snow, i am looking forward to winter and it snowing here ( ok very mild compaired to where you are) but its all relative i ‘spose.

  • I’m pleased to read the rumor mill has been churning on the wrong tidbit of info, but given how very ill you’ve been I can understand it.

Pleased to read your feeling that your overcoming the worst of it!!!!!  I wish I was looking forward to snow….but….no thanks…lol.  Should have been a bear I guess, or born south of the border somewhere!!!

Thinking of you often with positivity and warmth…

  • Great to read your blog again.

  • Glad to hear you’re getting BETTER!

But how do we know that this is not some reincarnation of the old you that really did pass?  Or maybe some ol’ white haired gentleman that happened by the place and saw that you were signed in to Xanga?  Give us some information that only you would know!  Hmm, but how would we know if it was the truth since only you would know?

    Okay, just messing around.

    Wishing you well!

  • I am glad you are feeling better missed your posts but you need to take care of the body first

  • I’m glad to hear that you’re feeling better! Proving the rumour-mill wrong is always a good thing, but especially in your case. Your photography is beautiful (as always), and it reminds me how peaceful winter can actually be.

    Blessings,
    Erin

  • Sorry to hear you are sick. Must be hard to be sick in a cold place like that…and even harder to recover there. Hope you get well soon. Peace and blessings.

  • Improvement is good.  Hang in there!  Lovely snow pic!  Glad it’s THERE and not here, though!

  • I one track.  Not being real active in Xanga like some, it takes me a while sometimes to realize something is missing.  I realized a week or so ago you hadn’t done the challenge and finally I decided to check on your site.

I hate being sick and am sure you feel exactly the same way and I am so sorry you have been.  In your neck of the woods I think it may be a lot harder to endure Phneumonia.  Get better, totally.

  • Kathy, Ms. SuSu,  Just want you to know you are missed along with the colorful reports of past and present adventures.

You are tucked into my heart pocket with positive energy for the best for you and yours.

    Peace and patient perseverance,
    Charlotte

  • Oh man, I hope you feel better soon. Pneumonia is a bitch… and a painful one at that. I’ve had it 14 times, myself.
This is definitely off subject, but I love your new site design.

  • Hello Ms. Kathy,
I like your site. You worked hard to make it scenic and serene. I see that you haven’t been feeling well lately. That’s the kind of world that we live in now, a world where sickness and death are a part of life. Fortunately, it isn’t going to stay this way much longer!
I like to write articles about God and religion on my site. I want to help people to really get to know God, especially in these troubled times. Jesus gave us a message of hope that is in the Bible: 14 “When the good news about the kingdom has been preached all over the world and told to all nations, the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14) (CEV) I hope you get a chance to look at them.

  • Each step we take is one step closer to our own demise thus I should say good bye for the nest time we meet the sun will have eaten the earth.

  • Sweet Dreams, Soul Sister.

  • Thinking about you this evening.  I hope you are on the mend.  I know you are missed here in Xanga.

    Becca

  • Hopefully you are completely well now.  Cool photo!  Those are really some HUGE snowflakes!

  • not a sign of you in 18 days!  Hope you are well now and its something like losing your puter or internet connection that’s keeping you away.  I’m getting worried.

  • mark twain.  one of my favorite quotable people…along with will rogers and others…monty python movies, included.

love fat snow.  love it.  we had our first snow here yesterday.  the day before that it was in the upper 70′s and people were out in shorts and t-shirts.  typical kansas, eh?

i’m glad to hear you’re getting better.  beats the hell out of the alternative in my book.
